Hakim, Nejad discuss Iraqi, Regional developments

Follow-up (IraqiNews.com) The head of the Supreme Iraqi Islamic Council Ammar al-Hakim discussed with the President of the Islamic Republic Mahmoud Ahmadinejad in the Iranian Capital the bilateral relations and the latest developments in Iraq and the Region.

The Iranian Mehr News Agency reported that “Nejad received Hakim in Tehran on Tuesday,” noting that “Nejad stressed that the current crises are a result for western conspiracies to form the Middle East Region that aims to protect Israel.”

Nejad assured that “The unity among Iraqi sects is necessary to foil the bad schemes which aim at dividing Iraq and Iraqis,” stressing that “The governments should defend the rights of their peoples without discrimination.”

For his part, Hakim briefed Nejad about the internal situation in Iraq as well as the activities implemented by the SIIC.
