Hakim, new Japanese Ambassador to Iraq discuss bilateral relations

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The head of the Supreme Iraqi Islamic Council, Ammar al-Hakim, discussed with the new Japanese Ambassador to Iraq Masato Takaoka the Iraqi-Japanese bilateral relations and prospects of developing them.

A statement by the SIIC cited on Thursday “Hakim received the new Japanese Ambassador to Iraq where he called during the meeting to intensify the participation of the Japanese companies in rebuilding Iraq.”

“For his part, the Japanese Ambassador appreciated the role played by Hakim in calming down the tensions in Iraq and his adherence to find quick solutions for the current political crisis,” the statement added stressing “His country’s support for the experience of democracy in Iraq.”
