Hakim receives message from French President

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The head of the Supreme Iraqi Islamic Council, Ammar al-Hakim, received a message from the French President, Francois Hollande, in response to his congratulatory message that he sent earlier to Hollande for being elected as the President of France.

A statement by the SIIC received by IraqiNews.com cited “Hollande expressed his determination on consolidating mutual relations between the two countries and confirmed French support for Iraq.”

The Socialist candidate, Francois Hollande, won the post of the President of France, by getting 52% versus 48% of the voting for his rival Nicolas Sarkozy, the former president, during the second round of elections.
