Baghdad ( Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab and African Affairs Hussein Amir-Abdollahian congratulated successful holding of Iraqi parliamentary elections to that country’s elites, government and nation.

A statemet by the Iranian Freign Ministry qouted Abdollahian, as saying “Today the world is witness to the independent Iraq’s move forward towards sustainable development, advancement, and security, referring to Iraq’s present day conditions.”

“Tehran-Baghdad relations are strategic and at the service of sustainable regional peace, stability, and security,” he added, noting that “Iraqis cast ballots in a national election seen as a referendum on security issues that could have widespread ramifications for the unity of the region.”
