Iraqi council for national powers announced

BAGHDAD / Chief of the Shmr tribe in Iraq , Fawaz al-Jerba, announced on Tuesday the formation of the Iraqi council for national powers to take part in the upcoming parliamentary elections. “The council consists of 15 political blocs which will be part of the Dawlat al-Qanoon list in the coming elections,” al-Jarba said at a press conference at al-Mansour Mylia hotel in Baghdad . Ahmad al-Kaabi, representative of the Dawlat al-Qanoon list, called on the council to start talking with all political powers, asserting that the democratic practice is the key to solve the Iraqi political crisis. The conference was attended by scores of chieftains, Feyli Kurds and the Islamic labor organization. SH (P)/SR 1
