(IraqiNews.com) BAGHDAD – Head of the Iraqi parliament, Saleem al-Jubouri on Tuesday, expressed his resentment to Prime Minister Haidar al-Abbadi’s decision which bans him and some other officials from traveling. The decision was made today.

Media Office of Director of the Speaker of Parliament, Khalid Nasser said, “Decision to ban the travel of any citizen holding Iraqi passport is the prerogative of the Iraqi judiciary exclusively.”

Nasser added that, “The judiciary resorts to take such decisions when there are lawsuits against a particular person that the judiciary sees it is necessary to prevent him from traveling until the completion of the investigation, and everyone must respect the Iraqi judiciary.”

Nasser indicated that ” So far there is no lawsuits against any name from the names mentioned by the defense minister, and therefore we have no right to prevent them from traveling.”
