KA to contest against decision to postpone census

BAGHDAD / The Kurdistan Alliance will file an appeal against the decision to postpone census until next year at the Federal Court, MP Saad al-Barzanji said Wednesday, calling on the council of ministers to hold the census this year. “The KA will contest against the cabinet’s decision to postpone the census until mid October 2010,” al-Barzanji said at a press conference, noting that the decision was made under pressures from some bodies in Ninewa and Kirkuk. He called on the council of ministers to cancel this decision and hold the census before the end of the year. SH (P) 1
