Khuzayi, Sheikh Al-Azhar discuss confronting sectarian seditions in Islamic countries

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) Iraqi Vice President, Khudair al-Khuzayi met Sheikh Al-Azhar Imam Ahmed al-Tayib and discussed with him issues that concern the Islamic countries and the need to unite and reject sectarianism in Islamic societies. A statement by the Khuzayi’s office received by Iraqi News cited “Khuzayi said that the meeting with al-Tayib was successful, and we agreed to hold an Islamic international conference to renounce sectarianism, racism and fight against the terrorist ideology that spread in our Islamic countries, praising the role of the Azhar that rejects all kinds of extremism.” “He added that he had asked Sheikh Al-Azhar to hold a conference either in Baghdad or in Cairo and invite all Islamic sects to sign a document of honor and agree on the principles concerning all communities,” the statement concluded.
