Kurdistan Region: Maliki’s decision oppose Iraqi’s interests

Erbil (IraqiNews.com) The head of the Divan of Kurdistan region, Fuad Masoum, stated “We are concerned from the return of the individualism in ruling Iraq because the decision of the Premier, Nouri al-Maliki, oppose the interests and will of the Iraqi people and show his monopoly of authority,” calling the “US Senates to practice their role in settling the crisis in Iraq.”

Masoum released his statement after few hours from conducting a deal between the Iraqi national Alliance and the Kurdistani Alliance over settling the crisis where the two sides stressed the necessity of avoiding the tensed statements that provoke them.

A statement by the Kurdistan RegionG received by IraqiNews.com cited “While visiting the USA, the Kurdish delegation that comprises Masoum, Ashti Horami, the minister of the Natural Resources of Kurdistan Region, Falah Mustafa, the Undersecretary of the Foreign Ministry of Kurdistan Region and some other officials, held several meetings with the US Senates and the political officials in addition to the US businessmen.”

“The Kurdish delegation referred to the achievements in Kurdistan Region during the last ten years and the stability that it has compared to the other parts of Iraq,” the statement added.

“The delegation has also discussed the political updates in Iraq and the political crisis where it confirmed its adherence to the dialogue in settling the disputes,” the statement concluded.
