Kurdish gov’t quick demands surprising – MP

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: The Iraqi Parliamentary Oil and Energy Commission expressed its astonishment with the Kurdish government’s quick quick demand to withdraw the oil and gas law and directing charges to the premiership and the commission. In a statement issued by the commission, as received by IraqiNews.com, the Kurdish statement was described as “unjustified.” MP Suzan al-Sa’ad elaborated that the Kurdish fears are “unjustifiable,” because the law will not pass without the approval of all political parties and deep discussions by the experts. She called the Kurdish government and members of the Kurdish alliance “not to add new crises amid the present internal and external ones”. The Kurdish government called yesterday for withdrawing the draft oil and gas law immediately because it contradicts the constitution and legal procedures inside the cabinet.   RM (TS)/SR   320
