Kurdistan’s presidency slams Ninewa bombing

ARBIL / The Kurdistan region’s presidency condemned the bombing attack that took place in Wardk village in Ninewa, asserting that the attack targeted Kurds in the province, according to a presidential statement. “The Kurdish presidency strongly condemned the crime against Kurds in Ninewa,” said the statement received by Iraqi News. A security source had said that a suicide bomber blew up a truck loaded with explosives late Wednesday (Sept. 9) in Wardk village in al-Hamadaniya district, eastern Mosul, killing 20 civilians and injuring 15, including women and children. “Waging attacks in Kurdish areas in Ninewa aims to evacuating these areas from their Kurdish residents through terrifying them,” the statement added.
