Kurdistan: "Iraqi Government declines to pay dues of oil companies operating in Region"

Erbil (IraqiNews.com) Kurdistan Regional Government announced that “The Central Government broke the agreement which was concluded between Kurdistan RegionG and the Central Government in oil sector where we expressed readiness to export the agreed amount of 175, 000 oil barrel per day to Turkey.”

The spokesperson of the Kurdistan RegionG, Safin Dizi, said that “We committed to exporting the agreed quantity of oil crude where the Central Government approved at that time to pay the financial dues to the operating foreign companies.”

“However, The Government paid only the funds of the first portion which is $ 650 million and declined to pay the second payment,” he added.

“This made the foreign companies operating in Kurdistan to halt their activities,” Dizi added stressing “The Kurdistan Region does not have the enough moneys to cover these financial dues to these companies.”
