Maliki in Tehran on official visit

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki on Saturday arrived on an official visit to the Iranian capital Tehran, according to al-Iraqiya TV. First Vice President of Iran Parviz Dawoudi and members of the Iraqi community in Tehran have received Maliki. Earlier today, a source from the Iraqi cabinet told IraqiNews.com news agency that Maliki had left Baghdad for Tehran on his first visit to Iran after his government has restored full control over Camp Ashraf. Minister of transport Aamer Abdel Jabbar, Minister of Trade Abdelfallah al-Sudani and Minister of Electricity Kareem Waheed have accompanied Maliki during his visit, which is scheduled to last two days. Maliki is expected to meet with Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and several officials to discuss several electricity, transport and trade issues. SS (P) 1
