Maliki, Syrian FM discuss Syrian crisis

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki discussed with the Syrian Foreign Minister, Waleed al-Mu’alim, the developments of the Syrian crisis and its ramifications on the region’s countries.

The Syrian FM has arrived to Baghdad on Sunday heading a senior delegation to discuss the Syrian crisis.

A statement by the Iraqi PM office cited “Maliki received al-Mu’alim at his office in Baghdad, where they discussed during the meeting, the Syrian crisis and its implications on the regional countries especially Syria’s neighboring countries.”

“Maliki renewed his call to settle the Syrian crisis via dialogue and away from military solutions which he described as standstill. The Iraqi PM welcomed the Syrian government’s decision to participate in planned Geneva Conference,” the statement added.
