Maliki urges Turkey to hand Hashimi over to Iraq

Baghdad ( The Premier, Nouri al-Maliki, urged Turkey to hand over the Fugitive Vice-President, Tariq al-Hashimi who is sentenced to death in absentia.

In an interview with one of the Turkish Newspapers, Maliki said” What would Turkey say if we granted the leader of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK), Abdullah Ocalan, the asylum?”

It is worth mentioning that the main reason behind the tensions between Turkey and Iraq is the existence of Hashimi in Turkey.
