Mayahi calls government to resume contracting procedures of 2012

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP, Aziz al-Mayahi, of the Parliamentary Economic and Investment Committee, called the government to resume the contracting procedures of 2012 in case of delaying the endorsement of 2013 budget.

In a press statement received by IraqiNews.com on Tuesday, he said “The government is requested to issue a decision over reconsidering the contracting procedures of 2012 in case of delaying 2013.”

“The political disputes may hinder the endorsement of the budget because some blocs lack the seriousness to endorse it,” he added, noting that “The projects of 2012 were approved by the parliament and the Planning Ministry. So, the government must consider them for the national interest.”

It is noteworthy that the 2013 budget is being discussed in the parliament to be endorsed.
