Mladenov denounces attacking Arbaeen pilgrims

The Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary-General for Iraq (SRSG), Mr. Nickolay Mladenov condemns in the strongest terms the recent attacks which deliberately targeting Shiite pilgrims commemorating Arbaeen rituals of Imam Hussein. The SRSG reported in a statement received by IraqiNews.com “Such despicable terrorist operations can not be justified under any pretext since practicing religious rituals are revered in all various religions”. ” Mladenov expressed his profound sympathy for the bereaved families of the victims, who have lost their beloved ones in abject circumstances,” he added, stressing that “There is no terrorist act can deprive the Iraqi people from seeking towards peace.” \END\
