MP attributes delay of performing residential projects to security, political situations

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The rapporteur of the Parliamentary Economic Committee, Mahma Khalil, attributed the delay in performing the residential projects to the security and political situations in Iraq.

He stated to Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com) “The security and the political situations are behind the delay of performing the residential projects,” noting that “The Iraqi banks do not provide the required guarantees to the investors over the financial funds.”

“The project of Besmaya city which comprises 100 thousand residential flats and was supposed to be performed by a Korea company since two years, but the project was not performed in spite of the exerted efforts by the National Investment Committee to perform it,” he added.

“As being an Economic Committee, we consider the residential projects as important ones where if we perform one project, we will provide more than 15 job opportunities,” he concluded.
