MP describes Kurdistan Region’s demands over pending issues as illegal

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP Salman al-Musawi of the State of Law Coalition described the demands of the Kurdistan Region over the pending issues between Baghdad and Erbil as illegal.

Musawi said “Non-meeting the invitation which was forwarded by the Premier Nouri al-Maliki to the Kurds and their refusal to attend the meeting devoted to discuss the crisis between the Central Government and Kurdistan Region Government is an attempt to avoid the embarrassment they might encounter due to their illegal demands.”

“The Kurds’ allegations that the Central Government recruits and arms Arabic tribes in the disputed areas is inaccurate, but the Region is arming Kurdish civilians in these areas in addition to their continuity in mobilizing the Peshmerga military forces in those disputed areas,” he concluded.
