MP Maliki describes decision of canceling Ration Card as "ill-considered"

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP Abdul Salam al-Maliki of the State of Law Coalition described the resolution of the Iraqi Cabinet over canceling the Ration Card and replacing it with financial grants as “hasty and ill-considered”.

MP Maliki told IraqiNews.com that “Despite the fact that the Council of Ministers does not take any decision without careful study, however it rushed to take such resolution, therefore it has to reconsider it especially there are 60, 000 agents who are officially tasked with distributing the Ration Card’s items on citizens, in so doing they will be affected by this decision because they will lose their jobs.”

“The Government was supposed to let the citizens choose whether to replace the Ration Card by funds or to keep on it before taking such decision,” he concluded.
