MP: Maliki’s statements of last Friday “Not democratic”

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP, Wael Abdul Lateef, of the Iraqi National Alliance considered the statements of the Premier, Nouri al-Maliki, on last Friday as “A non-democratic style.”

He stated to IraqiNews.com “The Iraqiya Satellite Channel, in a way or another, become a governmental channel,” noting that “All have to participate in enhancing democracy.”

“Exploiting this channel that is funded by the public money at the time of the special vote for supporting specific trend is a critical issue,” he added.

“The Special vote involves 650.000 voters which is not an easy number that will have an important role in changing the elections results,” he concluded.

Earlier, Maliki held a special interview with the Iraqiya Satellite Channel on last Friday in which he criticized and attacked some political blocs.
