Parliament questioning Baghdad’s Lord-Mayor, due to corruption charges

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: The Iraqi Parliament has decided to question Iraq‘s Lord-Mayor, Saber al-Issawi, in its session on Monday, following charges about his involvement in corruption cases, a Parliament media source reported. “The Parliament shall question in its today’s session, the Lord-Mayor of Baghdad, Saber al-Issawi, about corruption charges, and would vote on several draft-laws, including a law on development projects and another law for the Cash & Banking Training Center,” the source told IraqiNews.com news agency. He said “the Parliament would also vote, in principle, on a draft-law for the Economic, Trade & Technical Cooperation between Iraq and the Government of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.” SKH (TP)/SR 103
