Parliamentary Committee of Culture rules out endorsing Communications, Informatics Law

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Parliamentary Committee of Culture and Media ruled out endorsing the draft of the Communication and Informatics Law in the parliament.

The reporter of the Committee, Maysoun al-Damlouji, stated to Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com)” The Committee objected over the Communication and Informatics law draft presented by the government and it is impossible to endorse its current formula.”

“This law draft is clearly limiting the press and its means even the electronic ones which is completely rejected by the Committee,” she added.

The parliament, in more than one session, has postponed voting on the Communications and Informatics law draft.

For his part, MP, Kamal al-Saadi, of the State of Law Coalition accused the parliament chairmanship of “Delaying endorsing the Communications and Informatics law draft,” and also accused some sides that he did not name, of delaying it due to their relations with the communication companies.
