Press association urges probe into Abu Ghraib’s blast

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: The Iraqi Association to Defend Journalists’ Rights on Wednesday called on the Iraqi cabinet to conduct an investigation into Baghdad’s Abu Ghraib blast that claimed the lives of a number of journalists. The association questioned who was responsible for the presence of a large number of journalists and media personnel in a hot spot, where it said the rule of law is not enforced, according to a statement released by the association and received by IraqiNews.com news agency. On Tuesday (March 10), a suicide bomber blew himself up in a popular market in Abu Ghraib area, western Baghdad, targeting a meeting held by chieftains and security personnel A spokesperson for Baghdad’s Operations Command (BOC), Maj. Gen. Qassem Ata, said that the suicide bombing has left 28 persons dead and 28 others wounded.
