PUK, KDP stress support for dialogue with Kurdish opposition

Baghdad ( The ruling parties in Kurdistan Region stressed their support for the dialogue with the Kurdish opposition.

A statement reported by the website of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) headed by the Iraqi President Jalal Talabani, on Saturday “The President of Kurdistan Region, Masoud Barzani, met, on Saturday, with representatives of the political offices of each of the PUK and the Kurdistani Democratic Union headed by Barzani at Salah il-Din Resort in Erbil province.”

“Both of the political offices expressed, during the meeting, their gladness towards the outcomes of the meeting that gathered Barzani with the opposition leaders two days ago,” the statement added.

“The two political offices confirmed their support to the dialogue concept between both sides and stressed the necessity to set mechanism for these negotiations so as to preserve the unity of the Kurdistani political forces,” the statement concluded.
