PUK, Barzani discuss forming next Central Government

Erbil (IraqiNews.com) The President of Kurdistan Region, and chief of the Kurdistani Democratic Party, Masoud Barzani, discussed with a delegation of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, the political situation in the Region in particular and the country in general in addition to the future discussions.

A statement by the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan received by Alforat News Agency cited “A top delegation of PUK met Sunday, May 11th, President of Kurdistan Region Masoud Barzani in Permam, and according to a statement issued by the Presidency of Kurdistan Region, the meeting which was attended by Vice President of Kurdistan Region Kosrat Rasul dealt with the emerging political issues relating to Kurdistan Region, Iraq and the area in general.”

“The meeting was also concerned with the recent elections held on April 30th and the future atmosphere of Iraq following the general elections took place across the country, taking a unified stance by the Kurdistani political parties towards all the future possibilities of Iraq and negotiating process with the Iraqi sides were also emphasized,” the statement added.

“Part of the Presidency of Kurdistan Region’s statement included President Barzani’s congratulation to PUK on its advancement in the elections. In discussing the formation of the new Kurdistan Regional Government cabinet, both sides agreed on the necessity of the cabinet to get established as soon as possible and all the major parties of Kurdistan Region should be involved,” the statement concluded.
