Sadrist MP expects many MPs not to attend exceptional parliament session

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP, Ali al-Timimi, of al-Ahrar bloc within the Sadr Trend expected many MPs not to attend the exceptional parliament session called for by the parliament Speaker, Osama al-Nijaifi, to discuss the dangerous security situation in Iraq.

Speaking to Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com), he said “The General Commander of the Armed Forces, Nouri al-Maliki, did not attend the parliament sessions to discuss the security situation and had many justifications to avoid showing up in the sessions.”

“There are many bombings to the Sunni and Shiite areas where there is a plan to create a civil war in Iraq,” he added, noting that “I do not think that the Sunni are the enemies of the Shiite but there are foreign sides that attempt to create the sedition among the Iraqis where the parliament must has a strict stance.”

“Many of the MPs will not attend the parliament sessions due to their travel abroad,” he added, calling “The MPs of the State of Law Coalition to attend the session to stop shedding the Iraqi blood.”
