Demonstrations in Babil and Najaf to support Sadr’s protest inside Green Zone

(IraqiNews.com) Najaf – On Monday, thousands of the Sadrist movement supporters in the provinces of Babil and Najaf demonstrated to support the Cleric Moqtada al-Sadr sit-in inside the Green Zone in central Baghdad, while called the Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi to use this opportunity to form a technocrat cabinet.

One of the protesters in the province of Najaf called Hossam Kufi reported for IraqiNews.com, “This morning, hundreds of the Sadrist movement followers demonstrated in Sadrain Square in central Najaf, to support Moqtada al-Sadr sit-in inside the Green Zone in central Baghdad,” noting that, “These demonstrations will push the government to carry out irreversible reforms.”

Kufi also called the Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi to exploit this opportunity to form a technocrat cabinet.

Meanwhile, one of the demonstrators in Babil Province stated, “Thousands of the Sadrist movement demonstrated to support the protest of al-Sadr and the formation of technocrat government.”
