Sayhoud calls for coordination between Baghdad, Erbil to protect Turkmen

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP Mohammed al-Sayhoud of the State of Law Coalition headed by the Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki warned from a plan to start sectarian sedition at the disputed areas, especially in Tuz Khurmatu district in Salah-il-Din province, calling Baghdad and Erbil to coordinate over providing protection for the Turkmen community in Tuz.

MP Sayhoud stated to Iraqi News Monday “The Iraqi People face huge challenges, among them a plan to start sectarian sedition among the Shiite, Sunni, Kurds and Turkmen communities in Iraq.”

“The Arabs, Turkmen and Kurds reside in Tuz district which witness terrorist attacks every now and then but the government is unable to provide security protection in the district because the Kurds consider sending security forces from Baghdad to Tuz district a violation for the agreements between Baghdad and Erbil,” he stressed.

Sayhoud urged to “Provide security protection for the Turkmen community in Tuz district since they are mainly targeted by terrorist attacks,” pointing out that “This protection requires more coordination between the Iraqi Army and the Kurdish Peshmerga security forces.”
