Sectarian figures behind current demonstrations, says MP

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP, Mohamed al-Da’ami, of the Hurra Iraqiya bloc assured that some figures who attempt to create sectarian sedition are behind the demonstrations launched in some provinces.

He stated to Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com) “Few persons attempt to consolidate sectarianism but Iraqis are aware of such attempts.”

“Since 2007 there are ties from all sides to support the national unity among Iraqis whether they are Sunnis, Shiites, Kurds or Christians,” he added.

“Iraqis will not participate in such demonstrations because they realize the current situation,” he concluded.
