Shather: Government agrees upon decisions of Five-Side Committee

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The head of the Justice and Accountability Commission, Qays al-Shather, assured that the government agreed upon the decisions of the Five-Side Committee including amending the JAC law and the special amnesty for some prisoners.

He stated to IraqiNews.com “Some of the decisions made by the Committee are related to Articles 88 and 76 of JAC law as well as the Secret Informer in addition to the endorsement of the General Amnesty Law.”

“These decisions are basic demands by the demonstrators,” he added, noting that “They will be submitted to the parliament for approval.”

Earlier, the Five-Side Committee held a meeting at the office of the Deputy Premier, Salih al-Mutleg, in Baghdad, on Monday, to set the final drafts of the laws related to the demonstrators’ demands to be endorsed by the Council of Ministers during its Tuesday session and then to be ratified by the Parliament later.

A statement by Mutleg’s office received by IraqiNews.com cited “The meeting was attended by the Minister, Hadi al-Amiri, and the head of the State of Law Coalition bloc, Khalid al-Atiya, as well as the Minister of Education, Mohamed Timim, in addition to MPs, Falah Hasan Zedan and Qais Shather.”

“The attendants of the meeting agreed upon the final drafts of the General Amnesty Law, Justice and Accountability Law, Secret Informer Law in addition to releasing the women detainees as well as canceling the laws of 76 and 88 related to seizing the properties and to sustain the balance in the State institutions,” the statement concluded.
