SIIC congratulates Ebadi for becoming Prime Minister, forming next government

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Supreme Iraqi Islamic Council congratulated on Monday Haider al-Ebadi for the occasion of tasking him to form the next government and assuming the Prime Minister Post.

A statement by the SIIC received by IraqiNews.com cited Monday “We, the SIIC, congratulate the Iraqi People for the great achievement of nominating the candidate of the Iraqi National Alliance Haider al-Ebadi and congratulate him personally as well as the Supreme Religious Authority and the blocs within the INA for tasking Ebadi to form the next government in Iraq.”

The statement added “We call all Iraqi sides to exert all possible efforts to form the cohesive and strong team government and set a governmental program that would improve the situation in Iraq and strengthen the national unity among Iraqis to face the threats and challenges represented by the terrorist Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant.”

“We also call to strengthen the Iraqi foreign relations to consolidate the positive role of Iraq on the regional and world levels,” the statement concluded.
