SLC MP describes canceling Ration Card as "Reform process"

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP, Fatima al-Zarkani, of the State of Law Coalition considered the decision of canceling the Ration Card as a process of reform, calling to prevent the merchants from monopolizing the goods after the implementation of the decision.

She stated to IraqiNews.com “The Government has to prevent the merchants from monopolizing the goods and the foodstuffs when it will implement this decision.”

“The Council of Ministers involves Ministers from the blocs that rejected this decision who were supposed to refuse the decision in the Council,” she added.

“This is an important step to eliminate corruption and to grant the citizens all their rights,” she concluded.

Earlier, the CoM decided, during its regular meeting held on Tuesday, to cancel the Ration Card starting from March 2013.
