UK considers using Apache helicopters in fighting ISIL in Iraq

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) Britain is considering sending Apache attack helicopters to Iraq to fight Islamic State, The Times understands. The move may be necessary because the jihadists’ use of social media platforms such as WhatsApp and Facebook to issue orders and stay on the move has given them a tactical advantage.

It means British, American and other coalition warplanes flying at 20,000-30,000ft have to respond to moving targets rather than being able to strike at a conventional command centre, a government source said. /End/
