UNAMI Chief arrives in Baghdad

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com:  UN Secretary General representative, head of the UNAMI  Martin Kobler arrived in Baghdad today to assume his post following Ed Melkert, according to a statement issued here. The statement, as received by IraqiNews.com, added that Mr.Kobler assumed his post, expressing his desire to cooperate with the Iraqi government and parliament, as well as other governmental and civil society organs. Kobler was officially appointed in 11 August 2011 to replace Dutch  Ed Melkert, who assumed his post in July 2009. Kobler worked as deputy envoy for political affairs in Afghanistan since 2010.
