Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Liberal block of the Sadrist movement confirmed on Sunday that the National Alliance will hold a crucial meeting tomorrow to choose its candidate for Prime Minister that will be presented during the next session of Parliament which will be held two days later while pointing out that a 3rd term for Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki will be very difficult.

MP from the bloc, Riad Ghali said, in an interview for IraqiNews.com, that “The National Alliance will hold a crucial and important meeting on Monday to choose a candidate for Prime Minister in order to submit it during a session of the House of Representatives, which will be held two days later.”

Ghali explained that “enough pressure has been applied to the State of Law Coalition from Iraq and abroad to provide an alternative to the current Prime Minister, Nuri al-Maliki, which makes a renewal of his mandate for a 3rd term very difficult,” noting that “More than one name has been proposed as an alternative to Maliki: Khodair al Khozai, Hussain al-Shahristani, Hadi Ameri as well as having other names from the National Coalition such as Ibrahim al-Jaafari, Ahmad Chalabi and Adel Abdul Mahdi.
