Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) On Sunday, the State of Law Coalition threatened to resort to the Federal Court in the case of assigning the National Alliance to form a government, renewing its commitment to the outgoing Prime Minister, Nuri al-Maliki as a candidate of the largest parliamentary bloc.

MP for the coalition, Awatif Naima said in an interview for IraqiNews.com, that “The State of Law Coalition will resort to the Federal Court in a case of assigning the National Alliance to form a government,” arguing that “this matter will get to bypass the Constitution.”

She added that “the State of Law is the largest bloc; it has 105 seats in parliament and should be charged with forming a government,” indicating that “the deputies of the coalition voted in favor of Saleem al-Jubouri, and Foad Maasoum President of the republic, thus they should vote in favor of Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki.”

Naima indicated that “the National Alliance have not agreed yet to resolve its candidate, while State of Law has a candidate, and will go to parliament for a vote to him.”
