URGENT: MP reveals insider details of new government to IraqiNews.com

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com On Friday, Citizen Bloc MP Khadija Wadi revealed insider details of the new government line-up to IraqiNews.com.

The Citizen Bloc was granted the First Deputy Chairman of the House of Representatives and the ministries of transport and education, while the head of the National Alliance, Ibrahim al-Jaafari, got the portfolio of Foreign Affairs. The Secretary General of Badr Organization, Hadi al-Ameri, got the portfolio of Defense Minister.

Wadi said in a telephonic interview for IraqiNews.com that “The meetings of the political blocs on forming a new government are still going on until now,” adding that “the cabinet reshuffle includes the following: Chairman of the National Alliance, Ibrahim al-Jaafari to the post of Minister of Foreign Affairs, and the Secretary General of Badr Organization, Hadi Ameri got the portfolio of the Ministry of Defense.”

Wadi added that “the position of Minister of Finance, will be got by the leadership of the Alliance of Kurdistan, Barham Salih, the leader of the Supreme Council, Adel Abdul-Mahdi will get the portfolio of oil minister,” noting that “the MP for the coalition of Citizen, Ibrahim Bahr al-Ulum Setsnm will get the portfolio of Minister of Higher Education” .

Wadi noted “the portfolio of the Ministry of Interior will go to the MP of the Union of Iraqi forces Jaber al-Jabri, the Ministry of Environment to the deputy of the Union of Forces Qutaiba al-Jubouri,” pointing out that “the MP of the Yezidi component Vian Dakhil will get the Ministry of Women.”

Wadi indicated that “the share of the citizen block from the new cabinet will also include the Department of Transportation, while the Liberals block will get the Ministries of Justice and electricity”, noting that “the portfolios of Education and Health will go to the coalition of state law.”

The Deputy for the citizen block Khadija Wadi pointed that “its block got the post of the First Deputy Chairman of the House of Representatives, and the post of the Secretary General of the Council of Ministers,” asserting that “the meetings of the political blocs are still going to form a government within the next two days.”

On Thursday, the MP for the coalition of state law, Abbas al-Bayati said that the government of the designated Prime Minister, Haider Abadi will see the light in the coming hours, pointing out that the government will consist of 32 ministries.
