Urgent – – Parliament votes against increasing IHEC’s Commissioners

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Parliament voted against the request of increasing the number of the board of Commissioners of the Independent High Electoral Commission.

A Parliamentary source reported to IraqiNews.com “The Parliament rejected during its regular session of Thursday the request of increasing the number of the IHEC’s Commissioners into 15 despite the withdrawal of the MPs of the State of Law Coalition, Change Bloc and Fadhila Bloc from the session.”

It is worth to mention that the SLC’s MPs have withdrew from the Parliament’s session to protest the Chairmanship’s insistence on discussing the amendment law draft of the IHEC’s Law.
