URGENT: USA supports Abadi fully in the formation of his government

(IraqiNews.com) On Monday the American Vice President Joe Biden stressed his country’s full support for the designated Prime Minister, Haider Abadi, in the formation of his government, expressing the optimism of the American administration about success of Iraq to overcome “terrorism” and the formation of a successful government.

Abadi’s office said, in a statement followed by IraqiNews.com, that “Biden stressed, during a telephone conversation with al-Abadi, the support of the United States and the international community to the formation of his government.”

Biden stressed, according to the statement, that the “global support for Iraq is still strong,” noting that “the United States and its allies are willing to take a key role in supporting Iraq in the fight against terrorism.”

Biden added that “the United States supports Iraq’s unity, sovereignty and territorial integrity,” pointing out that “the American people and the American administration are optimistic about the success of Iraq to overcome terrorism and the formation of a successful government.”
