Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The US embassy in Baghdad announced visiting the Syrian refugees’ camp in Anbar province that is settled by about 7500 refugees to check on their situation.

A statement by the embassy cited “A senior delegation from the US embassy stressed during the visit to the Syrian refugees’ camp in Anbar the embassy’s adherence to support the Syrian refugees in Iraq.”

The statement referred that the “US government offered nearly $ 210 million till now to support the humane relief efforts presented to the Syrian refugees.”

“The delegation also met Iraqi officials and representatives of the world organizations operating at the camp to discuss improving the humanitarian situation there,” it added.

The statement quoted the aide of US embassy mission’s head, James Night as saying “The Iraqi Government surprisingly met the needs of the Syrian refugees.”
