USA, UK attempt to keep Iraq under Seventh Chapter of UN’s Charter, says MP

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP, Rafea Abdul Jabbar, of the Parliamentary Foreign Relations Committee accused that the United States of America and the United Kingdom are attempting to keep Iraq under the Seventh Chapter of the UN’s Charter.

Speaking to Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com), he stated “There are serious intentions by Kuwait to settle the pending issues with Iraq which is an evidence of improving the mutual relations between the two countries to move Iraq from the Seventh Chapter to the Sixth one.”

“The government and the Foreign Ministry are serious in dealing with Kuwait and Kuwait expressed its readiness to settle all the pending issues,” he added, noting that “Kuwait considers developing the economic relations with Iraq better than the other Gulf countries because the Iraqi economy and marketing highly serve Kuwait.”

It is worth mentioning that the Kuwaiti Prime Minister is supposed to visit Iraq within the next few days, but it is not clear that the changes in the Kuwait government will postpone the visit or not.
