Women role deteriorated at current stage despite increasing number of Parties, says Harb

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Legal Expert, Tariq Harb, pointed out “The women’s role witness deterioration at the current stage despite the increasing number of the Parties and the Political Entities and spending millions of Dollars in this regard.

Speaking to Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com), he said “The Independent High Electoral Commission announced registering more than 200 parties or entities where non of these parties is headed by a women.”

“The millions spent by the United Nations to upgrade the women situation in Iraq were wasted due to the failure of the women organizations to achieve the end of making women as leading sides for the parties,” he mentioned.

“During the former elections, we witnessed some women as leaders for a little number of parties though they were not lucky to win in the elections,” he concluded.

Observers confirmed the deterioration of the women’s role in political, social and other aspects attributing this deterioration to the nature of the Iraqi society.
