122% increase in phosphate production in 2009

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: The State Company for Phosphate has increased its production by 122 percent throughout the first nine months of the current year, compared to the same period last year, the Iraqi Ministry of Industry and Minerals said on Sunday. “During the first nine months of this year, the company has produced 15,200 tons of compound fertilizers, of which 8,685 tons have been marketed to the State Company for Agricultural Supplies,” according to a ministry statement received by IraqiNews.com news agency. During the same period, the company has also manufactured 3,100 tons of superphosphate fertilizers and 19,150 tons of sulfuric acid, the statement pointed out. SS (P) 1
