Deputy PM, Italian ambassador discuss Faw port

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Iraqi Deputy Prime Minister Rafie al-Issawi discussed plans and programs proposed by Italian firms to rehabilitate the Faw Grand Port in coordination with investors from the United Arab Emirates (UAE). This came in a meeting Saturday with the Italian ambassador to Iraq at al-Issawi’s office in Baghdad, according to a release issued by the Deputy Premier’s office. “The port will reinforce the Iraqi economy,” read the release as received by Iraqi News. “It will also offer thousands of job opportunities,” it said.
