Iraq is likely to get a loan up to $ 827 million, says Finance Minister

(IraqiNews.com) Baghdad – Finance Minister Hoshyar Zebari expected that Iraq will get a loan up to 827 million US dollars from the International Monetary Fund during in the coming period.
The Ministry of Finance said in a statement received by IraqiNews.com,” Zebari has headed the Iraqi delegation participating in the ongoing negotiations with the International Monetary Fund, which have been held on Wednesday night in the Jordanian capital, Amman, to discuss the mechanisms to get a loan from the International Monetary Fund as part of a rapid funding mechanism.
The statement noted, “These negotiations with the Fund come as a continuation of the efforts being made by Iraq to obtain external financing to bridge the fiscal deficit in the budget and reduce the financial gap between revenue and expenditure.”
The Governor of the Central Bank and a number of general managers in the ministries of finance, oil and planning have participated in these negotiations.
