(IraqiNews.com) Baghdad – On Saturday the Financial advisor to the Prime Minister Madhar Mohammed Saleh announced during the preliminary meetings with the International Monetary Fund in Amman, that Iraq is seeking to borrow 16 billion dollars, while revealed that the meetings with the International Monetary Fund will continue for a week.

Madhar Mohammed Saleh said in a brief statement received by IraqiNews.com, “The preliminary meetings between Iraq and the International Monetary Fund began, today, in the Jordanian capital, Amman, and will last for a week,” noting that, “The purpose of these meetings is to get a loan of 16 billion dollars in the form of payments to be delivered on three years.”

Saleh added, “The discussions focused on the economic situation in Iraq,” indicating that, “The meetings did not identify the uses of the loan or the amount of payments.”
