Iraqi Electricity Minister participates in Arab ministerial council for electricity

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Minister of Electricity, Karim Aftan participated in the Arab ministerial council for electricity that started on last Tuesday at the Arab League building.

A statement by the Ministry reported that “Aftan hoped to achieve success and progress for the Arab Energy ministries to achieve welfare for their citizens, stressing the necessity of exchanging expertise among the Arab countries in this respect.”

The Arab ministerial council for electricity has discussed in its tenth round a number of Arabic mutual issues most notably following up the projects of the electrical link among the Arab countries and the peaceful uses of the nuclear energy.

The spokesperson of the ministry of electricity, Musab al-Mudaris said “The agenda of the meetings include discussing the peaceful uses of the nuclear energy in light of the report prepared by the Arab Bureau for Atomic Energy over the activities related to the peaceful uses of the nuclear energy in generating electricity and Seawater desalination.”

“The meeting also discussed the preparations for the Arab Forum for renewable energy and the efficiency of energy scheduled to be held next year under motto (enhancement of mini and medium foundations’ role),” he added.
