Kurdistan Government to pay salaries in U.S. dollars instead of Iraqi Dinars

DollarErbil ( The Kurdistan Regional Government announced that it will pay of the salaries of its staff for the month of June in U.S. dollars instead of Iraqi Dinars.

A source in the provincial government told, that “the reason for the replacement process in the distribution of salaries is due to a lack of cash of the Iraqi currency in the region because of the financial crisis and the non-payment of its budget planned by the federal government for the current year 2014, which have not sanctioned by the former parliament” .

He pointed out that “Kurdistan Regional Government distributed the salaries of the last month on its staff yesterday and the salaries of the next July will be handed over after the holiday Eid al-Fitr.”
