Sharistany orders cancellation of charge against

WASSIT / IraqiNews.com: Iraq’s Deputy Prime Minister for Energy Affairs, Hussein al-Shahristany, has ordered the cancellation of a court case against 5 of south Iraq Wassit Council‘s members in the background of an issue related to al-Ahdab Oil Field in the Province, Wassit’s Council Secretary announced on Thursday. “Sharistany has ordered the Oil Ministry’s Legal Advisor to cancel the case against 5 of Wassit’s Council in the background of al-Ahdab Oil Field,” Ghadanfar al-Battikh told IraqiNews.com news agency. Battikh said that a Council delegation had conferred with Shahristany in the above respect, after the Council’s decision to suspend its activity following a case against 5 of its members in relationship to al-Ahdab Oil Field. Shahristany had decided to order the cancellation of the said case in response to an order by Prime Minister, Nouri al-Maliki, according to a Council statement on Thursday.
